2021 Apida Church Project Phase 1

Old News…….

  Covid-19 Update

Due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic the Apida Project is on hold until the mandatory curfew is lifted in Kenya.  We are focusing much of our relief efforts in providing food and housing for our pastors and their families during this unprecedented time in Kenya.  All Apida Church donations will be applied to the Apida project when we are allowed to continue with building and securing resources.  We pray this happens soon.

Current News 2/28/21

The Apida Project has been funded and the church is being built. We will have photos posted soon.  Some challenges during the building process (high winds blew the roof off and had to be reinstalled) but it has been fixed and the progress on the new church is exciting and happening daily.  We pray many will find refuge in the walls of the new facility on Holy Grounds.

Original Post

The picture in the Top header is of the current Apida Church location.  As you can see it is attached to a local bar.  We are in the process of moving it to a new location.  The picture directly above is of the Land recently purchased where the  New Apida Church will be built.  It is approximately (0.08 hectare) or 0.20 acre in size. Clarification for differing countries.

We are raising funds to build a Mabati Style Church on this property.  This will move the current rented church to a safer area away from the Bar District in Apida.  The new property is not rented but owned by Antioch Church of Kenya. A Mabati style Church is the first step in establishing a new church facility on new land.  A permanent Brick structure will be built later when the congregation reaches 100 plus members.  A mabati structure can last up to 15 years utilizing wood poles for framing and metal sheets for walls and ceilings.  The floor will be concrete and utilized when it changes to a brick structure.  The Mabati structure can be moved to the next church location or utilized for a schooling and/or class room building.
